Various book things
The first various book thing is that Mary from Owlhaven has written a review of my book and is holding a giveaway. Head over to her comment section to enter.
Mary is an incredible woman who normally doesn't take much time for reading novels, (she has ten kids, and she's a bigger fan of non-fiction) so it means a lot to me that she enjoyed The Eve Tree.
...it was a chance to turn over experiences of my own, to hold them up against the descriptions of the characters in the book, and in the process gain a bit more insight into what it means to be an imperfect human, to struggle with challenge, to love and be well loved.
The second various book thing is that I am agonizing over experimenting with ebook pricing. You see, I'm such a new hand at this independent publishing thing, and I'm working at getting my dear book a little more exposure. I've fretted and bitten my nails, I've tried to think of every connotation there could possibly be to moving prices up or down, and I've read a lot of (differing) opinions on it.
Finally, I said, enough! Chill out, Rae. Play around a little, it's not the end of the world, don't take yourself so seriously. NO ONE fully understands the ebook publishing gig at the moment. So anyways, for the month of July I have The Eve Tree priced at $2.99 in the various ebook formats.
Of course, as everyone in my family knows, when mango season is over, it will be the end of the world.
The third thing is that I put a new home for my books reviews--not reviews of my book, but books I've reviewed--on this site. Look up there! It has its own
And the fourth thing is that I got my first fan art! Fan ART, friends. I'm tickled to death. Check it out.
The portrait is particularly good. Striking likeness, hmmm? I love Secret Agent Josephine, and I've always admired Bug, partly because she's awesome, and partly because she's so close in age to Leafy. And clearly, an artist already.
