Welcome.
I wish I could stick a couch onto this website, so you could curl up while you read. Maybe some hot tea, too. But since I can’t, I’ll just say, welcome. This space is for you.
I’m Rae. I have a Superstar Husband, which is a wonderful thing to have. I also have three children who are just like iguanas: slithery, leathery, and unblinking. (Not really.) And I have a small fish baby in my belly, due sometime. I’m not quite sure when, yet. So, I’ll just say, sometime.
As more people are reading this website, sometimes I find myself faltering, a little, when I want to write about something particular to certain parts of my life that other people share. So, I’ll just say this. I want to continue to be honest, while also striving to be kind. This is not always easy, but it is a groundnote for this blog.
Right now we live in Sacramento, which is different. If you flit around in my archives, you’ll find a lot about living in the Redwoods. And we are here, now, on our way to India. This next year should be interesting.
I’m looking forward to good stories.

Much love and happy reading.

Hey girl,
Just doing a little reading on your blog, just thinking of you and whatnot. I’m so devastated to hear about your loss. I have not experienced such loss to date and don’t know what to say. You are a strong woman.
I saw your children on the flickr page. So beautiful.
If you like you can check out Ryan’s (husband) flickr page at flickr.com/photos/rwhannan there are pictures of our kids and stuff. There are alot of them, he is so into his camera. It’s great, I don’t want to do it all the time and I can’t really understand the SLR anyway.
Take care of yourself, and don’t feel obligated to reply, I just want you to know that I’m thinking of you and praying for you too. And of course, it’s impossible not to miss you. Love Sarah
Why does it say December 1969 at the beginning of your “about”? Just wondering - you were not even born then.
Rachel, Where are you? I know you’re in Turkey, but how are you? We miss you so much. We had Carrien and Aaron over to our place in Oceanside for dinner last night. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Bless you.
We love you. Peace be with you.

Hi Rachel. Wow! I love reading your blog. It makes me want to cry that I didn’t know you better when I was at the land. I was a mess then, though, so I guess I just have to forgive myself. You are so beautiful. I love you. Oh, btw, my favorite color is red and I always have a pair of red shoes, too. Right now, I have two pairs of red shoes! Blessings on you all in India. I am a little jealous.
Hugs!
