When the lights went out

I was shooting a response to a Superhero Challenge at Shutter Sisters, when the power went out suddenly.

My bathroom self-portrait suddenly took on a very true-to-life form.  Power outs. In India. Definitely part of my life.

Good shot, bet you took the picture just so you would have some light! One thing you know for sure, your life is never boring!

Very cool Rae, like how the lack of light hides the camera…

I was reading in the paper how there was another protest in India – how it’s a daily experience or tradition, and this time people were sitting in the middle of the road protesting the fact that they had no power. Said that they paid for the hydro, paid the penalties when it was late and now they had no power. The power people came out to deal with the situation and they told the people sitting in the street that they would redirect some power to them for a little while so that they would be happy. So that must be the gist of what is going on – they take turns where they turn the power on, something that we in North American can’t even fathom.
