Hi Rae,

I am tickled to be sitting here in my hotel in Korea reading your words from India about my book. Small world-- we moms need to stick together!
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts!!
Hugs

I was raised in a family of 13. What a blessing it was to be one of many. I am now hearing my own children tell stories of their 'adventures'. I sometimes wonder where the heck was I when all this was going on! It truly is about the everyday interactions. When you see your children extending kindness to one another, you know you are on the right track.
In all fairness I have to admit to thinking more than once I was going to go insane....AND I was going ALL BY MYSELF!

Isn't blogging amazing? It brings you magical help at just the right time.

P.S. I keep meaning to mention that your post titles are awesome. "Chocolate & code" was food for thought (hehe).

Ooo, I want one! As I told my midwife today, when she asked me about how my post partum time is going, I said, "The baby is the easy part. It's the teenagers that are giving me panic attacks." I should definitely check out her book.

Sounds wonderful. Amazon loves me...
So, if I want to send you something, where should I send it?
"I'm gonna wrap me up in paper, I'm gonna dot myself with glue... Stick some stamps on the top of my head... I'm gonna mail myself to you." (Woody Guthrie)

Great review! I've been intrigued by her book but haven't picked it up yet. It sounds like it is full of the kind of stuff I need to hear.

(although I already figured out people don't think moms of many are normal)

Unlike some others, I hadn't heard of this book before and your description and endorsement is very enticing! Going to go look up the book (and check out the author's blog) right away. But thank you also for the hilarious little glimpses of your life - from the poo & the bee to the people asking about plans for ending your fertility. So many of us really are in the same boat, just harbored in different locations!

OK, so I already planned to buy Mary's new book because we are also adopting internationally and am so happy to read your wonderful review here....but let me tell you that little half-confession you wrote following, Serenity Now! made me laugh until the tears rolled and I coughed until I thought I'd see lung tissue! I'm still teary and giggling as I type with wonder and amazement at my great God who has brought so many beautiful women into my life in various ways to teach & encourage me. :)
