10 Beautiful Things on a Day When I’d Rather Not Admit That Anything is Beautiful

1. My husband is juggling and passing with a new friend from New York who is here for a short while. New friends are beautiful.  Especially guy friends for my dear husband who is hanging out a lot with myself, Cate and Renee, lately.

2. Solo’s smiles.

3. Leafy being a brave boy even though he has a skin infection; a form of staph which is common in young kids in developing countries.

4. My house is clean.  Somewhat.

5. We’re heading out tonight to have dinner and watch the sunset.

6. Laundry hanging out on a neighbor’s roof.

7.  The little Russian boy next door learning English from my kids, as well as how sweet and patient they are with him.  “What is this is?” he asks, over and over again as they look through books.  And they tell him.  “Speed boat… police car… caboose… taxi… truck… tractor…” He definitely has thematic inquiries.

8. Cold water when you are thirsty.

9.  A headache easing with a nap.

10. There is a certain beauty to loneliness, isn’t there?  It lets you know you are a person, you are real, and you need others.

Can you get your hands on colloidal silver? Or just a little bit of genuine silver like a bracelet or something might work if you can’t find the colloidal kind. For Leafy’s staph infection. MY kids had it a few years back and we tried EVERYTHING. And it was sad an really hurt. Finally we read about the silver, (anti-bacterial), and within a day of trying it, it was much better.

I think Grape fruit seed extract may also work. It works on ring worm anyway. But it would sting and hurt. The silver was great because it didn’t cause anymore pain.

Love you guys

I love the part where you say that loneliness is beautiful and your explanation for that.
Thank you

Oh, I wish I could sit with you and visit…to help you through this time. Although it’s so true that it doesn’t matter how many bodies are around you- sometimes the lonliness just comes. That’s the biggest surprise of adulthood for me. As a child I couldn’t wait to grow up and order my life in a way that I’d never feel alone, but it’s a position of the heart for me. Not a reflection of how many people are in my space. Motherhood can be such a lonely place- as silly as that sounds.

It keeps us humble and chases us into the arms of Another- whom we couldn’t get away from even if we tried. :-)

Hope everyone is feeling better and all looks brighter soon.

I love the title and content of this post. I have been struggling with writing anything lately. Maybe I’ll use your inspiration and look around me more closely for the the beauty I am allowing to slip past me.

Blessings to your and your family!!
