Running through memory lane (Update: the links are fixed!)
Right before I had Leafy, I took some time to write out all of my birth stories. It was a good preparation for another birth experience, and I felt so happy reading through them again, just now.

All of our kids have been born in memorable places, at memorable times. We’ve been blessed by their arrivals, three sweet times, and it helps me through my hip pain (have I mentioned my hip pain?) and general complete discomfort right now to read about the wonderful end results of this thing called pregnancy.
Of course, I do have the kids themselves to remind me of the joys of babies. The kids, with their love and cuddles and sweetness and demanding voices and shrieking and fighting and running the opposite way when I am too big to get up and run after them (Leafy). Oh. Um. Sorry. I may be a little exhausted right now.
Seriously, I know that I am a woman blessed, and my kids are my favorite people in the world.
Now, if only I had a little more energy…

I just read your birth stories and they were wonderful! I feel the need to comment on the afterbirth pains, since you are coming up on the birth of your fourth lovebug. I, too, have 4 children. After the birth of my third baby, I had excruciating afterbirth pains. Almost as difficult as serious, hardcore contractions. As in, I had to stop what I was doing, concentrate and breathe through them. With my fourth, I did NOT experience this. I don’t remember it at all. Weird, but true. SO hopefully this might put your mind at ease a teensy bit.

Jen- thanks for the word about the afterbirth pains. I am a little nervous about it, since it was pretty rough last time, but hopefully my experience is like yours.
Much as after birth pains hurt…
They are better than going under general and having a D&C to remove the placenta and stop the bleeding because it’s not dislodging on it’s own fast enough.
Just sayin’.
I know that YOU will have a wonderful birth story to tell in a few more weeks.

Loved walking down memory lane with you. You are blessed. I totally love your spirit, how you would sing hymns and cry out to Jesus during that time. I think I was so immensely in pain that I kept reminding him that he said he would look after me.
You are in my prayers this time for sure. Wish I could be there right away like I was for the other 2. Know that I’ll miss not being there!

i did some chanting and singing in my births and it really supported the flow of riding the waves…

I love love LOVED reading the birth stories! You’ve inspired me to write my own down, even though with the first one I was a complete mess of shot nerves and panic and the whole process was pretty much one unending, ugly moment for my poor husband
This most recent one though, I was a lot calmer, and my “icture” was of me surfing! Strange, especially since I’ve never surfed.
Your children are so beautiful. I had to have an emergency c-section so I loved reading your birth stories. You are so brave!
Is this going to be the Monsoon Baby? Loving you, and praying for you as you wait these last weeks…. and remembering with a smile how you were here when I went into labor with Raphi. Here’s to a short and sweet labor!
